First of all, you should consider the clock speed. According to SolidWorks, you need a minimum of 3.3 GHz or higher for everything to go smoothly.

But to be on the safer side, you can use the system requirements provided by SolidWorks, Ansys and Catia as a guide. Also, CPUs with high clock speeds and cores are preferred to multi-core CPUs with lower clock speeds.

For this reason, you should prioritize high-performance Intel (i5 and i7) and AMD (Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7) over the less powerful processors especially those ending with U.

What’s The Best Graphics Card For SolidWorks

NVIDIA Quadro, AMD FirePro, AMD Radeon Pro are the only certified dedicated graphics cards required to run SolidWorks and CAD software smoothly.
