MSI GS65 Stealth

MSI GS65 Stealth-006 15.6' 144Hz Ultra Thin and Light Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i7-8750H, NVIDIA RTX 2060, 16GB DDR4, 512GB Nvme SSD, Win10

An absolute Powerhouse. This laptop has high-end specs to play World of Warcraft (WOW) on a competitive level. Plus, it is also one of the thinnest and lightest gaming laptops out there.

The MSI GS65 possesses an Intel Core 8th Gen i7 Processor and an RTX 2060 graphics card. Right of the bat, you can MAX OUT graphic settings on WOW. You can also MAX OUT the graphic settings on a lot of AAA title games. You won’t experience any lag in cities, raids or where a large number of people gather.

The display is also has a high refresh rate to prevent screen stuttering, ghosting and tearing. It is a 144Hz 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). The display is gorgeous for a gaming laptop. Colour reproduction and accuracy are high. Colours will look vibrant and pleasant to look at.

When it comes to battery life. You are looking at 6-7 hours under consistent use. For a gaming laptop, it is impressive. Because most gaming laptops last 2-3 hours. The MSI GS65 also comes with a Thunderbolt 3 port. So you can hook it up to an external monitor or eGPU.

The MSI GS65 would have been perfect if not for a few flaws. The build quality and the tendency for it to run hot.

This laptop will run at high temperatures under heavy loads. Thin and light gaming laptops suffer from this. Undervolting and applying thermal paste will at least reduce high temperatures.

The build quality isn’t so great too. It has quite a bit of flex, especially on the keyboard area and display. You have to be extra careful handling it.

Still, the MSI GS65 Stealth is one of the best gaming laptops for WOW and AAA title games. Get this if you want a massive competitive edge not only against players but better graphics in the game allowing to see more detail.

MSI GS65 Stealth Review

Acer Predator Helios 300

Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop PC, 15.6 inches Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display, Intel i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, PH315-52-78VL

Another great gaming laptop to play WOW – Acer Predator Helios 300. This gaming laptop runs cooler than the majority of gaming laptops out there. All thanks to Acer redesigning the thermal solution. Say goodbye to overheating and thermal throttling.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is a powerful machine. A 9th Gen Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti. Playing on MAX graphics in World of Warcraft would be a piece of cake. AAA title games will also run smoothly on high graphic settings.

It is the storage device that might piss you off. Yes, it is fast – 256GB NVMe SSD. But, as you can see 256GB is small and will get filled up quickly. At least, you will enjoy fast loading times and boot-up speeds.

When it comes to the display. You have a 144Hz 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). A fast display with average colour accuracy and reproduction. Viewing angles are also great. In short, a massive improvement from the previous generation.

For build quality, it’s one sturdy and robust laptop. Made from both aluminium and hard plastic. The aluminium covers the display and keyboard. Whiles the rest of the body is hard plastic. This eliminates flex. For the weight, it is neither heavy nor large approx. 5.2 pounds. You can easily carry this around.

On the other hand, battery life is below average. The Acer Predator Helios 300 can work continuously for 3-4 hours before requiring a recharge. Even less if you are gaming on it.

Overall, the Acer Predator Helios is an affordable gaming laptop with some serious hardware. This makes it one of the best laptops to play WOW.

Pros

Great Performance

Cons

Lenovo IdeaPad L340

Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop, 15.6 Inch FHD (1920 X 1080) IPS Display, Intel Core i5-9300H Processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB Nvme SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, Windows 10, 81LK00HDUS, Black

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is a capable affordable laptop to play World of Warcraft. It is one of those laptops that have gaming hardware. But, do not look like a gaming laptop.

It’s an all-black laptop with a touch of blue. The keyboard and logo are blue. The build quality is also not bad. Made from hard plastic with a little bit of flex. When it comes to weight, it is approximately 4.8 pounds or 2.2 kg.

When it comes to battery life. It’s able to last 4-5 hours on a single charge. Not so impressive. Fortunately, it has fast charging capabilities. You can charge it to up to 80 per cent in an hour.

The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS. It is not the best display out there. Colour accuracy and reproduction are below average. So colours look washed out. Plus, it is not a bright display. Viewing angles though are decent.

When it comes to performance. The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 has a 9th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM and a GTX 1650. For a budget gaming laptop, those are some impressive hardware.

You will be able to play some demanding games on high settings. And so WOW won’t be a problem. The processor can also achieve high clock speeds when things get demanding.

The RAM slot is a single channel so unfortunately, you can’t take advantage of dual-channel memory. The storage device is a 512GB NVMe SSD. Enough space to store your files and games whiles at the same time giving you fast boot-up speeds.

Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 might not be the best laptop. But, it is certainly one of the best cheap laptops for WOW.

MSI GL63

MSI GL63 8SC-059 15.6' Gaming Laptop, Intel Core i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650, 8GB, 256GB Nvme SSD, Win10

The MSI GL63 is a solid gaming laptop for 1080p gaming. This laptop will crush WOW on high settings. You will also be able to play a lot of AAA title games on medium settings.

First things first. This laptop might put you off. Because the design is that of a typical gaming laptop. Red lines and accents running along the body.

If you want a clean and minimalistic design. Then this laptop is not for you. The build quality is solid at least. Made from brushed metal and plastic. The metal covers the display and interior. Whiles the plastic covers the rest of the body.

The MSI GL63 has the best price-to-performance ratio. No other laptops in its price range have similar hardware. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM and GTX 1650. As mentioned already, the hardware is powerful enough to handle AAA title games on medium settings. And so WOW wouldn’t be a problem for it.

The storage space is a 256GB NVMe SSD. Though fast it is still small. So you have to upgrade it soon.

The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). Unfortunately, it is not impressive one bit. Colour accuracy and reproduction are below average. It is also not bright.

Battery life is also below average. Because of its small battery capacity. It can last for 3-4 hours before it powers down.

Still, the MSI GL63 is a steal given price it is available at. Most gaming laptops with similar hardware are more expensive. One of the best laptops for WOW and WOW Classic.

Pros

Cons

ASUS TUF

Asus FX504 Thin & Light TUF Gaming Laptop, 15.6” Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H Processor, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 8GB DDR4, 256GB M.2 SSD, Gigabit WiFi, Windows 10 - FX504GE-ES72

A budget-friendly laptop from Asus. This laptop has the cliché design of gaming laptops. An aggressive design with red accents on the keyboard and logo.

The ASUS TUF is made from both plastic and metal. The display lid is metal whilst the rest of the chassis is plastic. There is a bit of flex on the display lid but the rest of the laptop is sturdy.

When it comes to performance. The Asus TUF is equipped with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM and GTX 1050 Ti. This might not seem much to you. But, it is a capable gaming laptop. You will be able to play World of Warcraft on high settings. For newer AAA title or demanding games, you have to reduce it to medium or low settings.

Storage space is on the low side. A 256GB M.2 SSD. It is fast but you will run out of space quickly if you don’t upgrade it.

The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). Colour accuracy and reproduction is a little above average. Plus, the refresh rate is 60Hz.

That means if you play games with FPS higher than 60 FPS. You are bound to experience some screen tearing, stuttering and ghosting. To be honest, for a budget gaming laptop the display is decent.

The laptop is also lightweight. Just a little over 5 pounds or 2.2 kg. You can easily move it around. Battery life is not impressive because of its small capacity. A 48 WHr that can provide power continuously for 3-4 hours.

Moreover, the laptop comes with a lot of bloatware. Fortunately, we have a guide that can help you get rid of it.

The ASUS TUF has a powerful processor and a capable graphics card. Easily one of the best affordable laptops to run WOW.

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E 15 Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-5762

The Acer Aspire E15 is the best cheap laptop for WOW. It might not be the fastest or the most powerful. But, it will get the job done. You will be able to get decent frame rates.

All this is possible thanks to its 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA MX150. The MX150 is an entry-level graphics card that can handle casual games well. But struggles with AAA title games. Games likes Fortnite, Overwatch and CS: GO will run smoothly.

But, demanding games will either not be playable or you to reduce the graphics settings to the lowest. The Intel Core i5 is not bad at all too. It is a big step-up from the previous generations. And will be able to handle certain demanding tasks.

It also comes with a 256GB SSD. So you can expect fast boot-up speeds, loading of games and launching of applications.

Now for the display. It is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080). It is not impressive by any means. The display is not bright and so outdoor use will be difficult. Viewing angles are also not great.

Build quality isn’t so great either. There is quite a bit of flex at the keyboard area and display. It is to be expected since this is an affordable laptop.

The battery life is also decent. It has enough power to last 8 hours under consistent use.

Overall, it is a great all-round laptop. Just keep in mind that you won’t get stellar performance compared to other more powerful and expensive laptops out there.

Pros

How To Find The Best Laptop To Play World Of Warcraft (WOW)

Here are three important things to consider in getting a laptop to play WOW.

Processor

WOW is a CPU-intensive game and so you need quite a powerful CPU to handle tasks very quickly. Going to places with a lot of players especially in cities or having a lot of players on raids is going to very demanding for the CPU. So if your CPU is not up to tasks you will experience a drop in frame rates when you are in those situations.

Graphics Card

A dedicated graphics card is always going to win against an integrated graphics card. Even though WOW is a CPU-intensive game there will always be cases where you need extra power or help from the GPU and the more powerful the GPU better the performance the higher the graphic settings you can play WOW on.

Ultra settings on WOW is always better than low settings on any day. You will get a much better gaming experience if you have a powerful CPU and a GPU and you won’t need to worry about meeting the requirements of future expansions.

Budget

It is always your budget that can allow you or prevent you from getting the best laptop to play WOW. Knowing how much you are willing to spend is another way of telling you how much you are willing to compromise on a laptop.

Conclusion

That’s it for our recommended list of laptops for World Of Warcraft (WOW). If you need any help feel free to comment.
