Here Are The Best-recommended Laptops For Minecraft

Best Overall

ASUS VivoBook S Ultra Thin

ASUS S510UN-EH76 VivoBook S 15.6' Full HD Laptop, Intel Core i7-8550U, NVIDIA GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, Windows 10

The ASUS Vivobook is easily the best laptop you can get for Minecraft. In fact, not only Minecraft but a lot of things. The hardware is great and the laptop is easy to carry around.

Talking about hardware. The ASUS Vivobook is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 quad-core and 8GB RAM.

The i7 is a capable processor and along with the NVIDIA MX150, you will be able to play Minecraft on high settings. This laptop also comes with massive amounts of storage.

Combined storage of a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. That’s a lot of space. Like with most that have combined storage the OS is kept on the SSD for fast boot up. And other files are kept on the HDD.

Enough with the performance. The display on this laptop is above average. A 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Infinity display.

Viewing angles are great. Colour accuracy and reproduction are also decent. This allows the display to produce sharp and crisp images. Brightness is also high enough to be used outdoors.

Enough about the positives. There is no such thing as the perfect laptop. Laptops definitely have their flaws. And for this laptop, it is the battery life and fans.

The battery life is mediocre at best. It is able to last 6-8 hours of normal usage. Depending on how you tweak the settings it will be closer to 8 hours. The fans are also loud when using the laptop for intense computer task.

This is understandable. Because if the fans do not go into overdrive the laptop won’t be sufficiently cooled and thermal throttling might happen. The fans being loud is an indicator they are working hard.

Overall, the ASUS VivoBook S is easily the best laptop you can get to play Minecraft on and for light or casual gaming. The specs also make it a good option for college or work.

Pros Cons
Great Performance Mediocre Battery
Massive Amount Of Storage Fan Makes A Lot Of Noise Under Heavy Loads
Easy To Carry Not The Best Speakers
Backlit Keyboard

ASUS Vivobook S Review

Best Performance

ASUS VivoBook K570ZD

Asus Vivobook K570ZD Casual Gaming Laptop, 15.6' Full HD IPS Level, AMD Quad Core Ryzen 5 2500U CPU, GeForce GTX 1050, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Fingerprint Reader, Backlit KB, Windows 10 - K570ZD-ES51

The ASUS VivoBook K570ZD is a gaming laptop that has the hardware to max out the settings on Minecraft. And the best part is that it doesn’t look like a gaming laptop. No fancy designs. No red lines running through it. Just a normal looking laptop.

The laptop has an NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card which, to be honest, is more than enough for Minecraft. You can get smooth gameplay on MAX settings.

The card can also play most AAA title games on low to medium settings. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor is also a capable processor and about 13% slowly than Intel’s low power i5 processor.

Because the laptop has a capable card the battery life took quite a hit. You will be looking at 5-6 hours of normal usage from a single full charge. The laptop is also a fingerprint magnet.

The display is pretty average. A 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS panel. The viewing angles are not that great and colours are a bit washed off and dull. It’s also not bright.

The screen and the battery life might be a deal breaker. But there is no denying the performance of the laptop. The ASUS VivoBook K570ZD is a decent gaming laptop that is affordable.

Pros Cons
Great Gaming Performance Fingerprint Magnet
Easy To Carry Not The Best Display
Runs Cool Not The Best Battery Life

Huawei MateBook D

Huawei Volta-W50D MateBook D 14', 8th Gen Intel i5, 8GB+256GB MX150, Mystic Silver

The Huawei MateBook D and Acer Aspire E15 have similar hardware. But what differentiates the Huawei MateBook D from the Acer Aspire E15 is its build quality.

Whilst the Acer Aspire E15 has a plastic chassis, the Huawei MateBook D is entirely made of aluminium. On top of that, it is lightweight at about 3.5 pounds and doesn’t attract fingerprints.

When it comes to performance it is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and has 8GB RAM. The storage is a 256GB SSD so you can expect fast data transfers and boot up speeds.

The graphics card is a dedicated NVIDIA MX150. The MX150 won’t give you stellar performance on AAA title games.

But, it will definitely give you top-notch performance on Minecraft. The graphics card was made for light gaming.

Over to the battery side. You are to get 9-10 hours of battery usage from a single charge. That’s a lot of hours and a good thing especially if you move around a lot.

The display is a 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS which could have been better. Viewing angles are not that great. Also, brightness s quite low and the colours are little off.

The webcam is also low resolution and has a lot of noise. If you Skype or video call a lot you will be disappointed.

We are talking about laptops that run Minecraft smoothly. And the Huawei MateBook D is one of them. Apart from that, the slim and light form factor and battery life make it a good laptop overall.

Pros Cons
Solid Build Quality Not The Best Display
Solid Performance Poor Webcam
Great Battery Life

Best For School – A Cheap Laptop For Minecraft

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E 15 Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-5762

The Acer Aspire E15 is solid option making it a good laptop for Minecraft. It’s a budget laptop meant for those who are not able to afford expensive laptops. Even as a budget laptop the Acer Aspire E15 doesn’t compromise on performance.

It is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and has 8GB RAM. In addition to that, the graphics card is an entry-level NVIDIA MX150. A good enough card for light gaming. This card will no doubt be able to run Minecraft on medium to high settings.

The storage device is a 256GB SSD. This makes it one of the few budget laptops to come with an SSD.

Most budget laptops come with HDDs. You can expect fast boot-up speeds, loading times in games and launching of applications.

The battery itself is decent too. Being able to last 8-9 hours under normal usage. The laptop is neither light nor heavy. Weighing close to about 5 pounds make it pretty standard and not that difficult to carry around.

Where the Acer Aspire E15 totally fails is its display. Don’t get me wrong the display itself is able to produce sharp and crisp images.

But the brightness is low and the viewing angles are just bad. It could have been better but this is a budget laptop. You shouldn’t expect much.

Still, the Acer Aspire E15 is a budget laptop that can run Minecraft smoothly. It can also handle games AAA title games if you play in low settings.

A solid laptop that can be used for not only playing Minecraft but almost everything whether college or work.

Pros Cons
Solid Performance Not The Brightest Screen
Plenty Of Ports Lots Of Bloatware
Good Battery Life
Bang For Buck

Best Budget

Dell Inspiron 15

2018 Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Flagship Premium 15.6' Full HD Touchscreen Backlit Keyboard Laptop, Intel Core i5-8250U Quad-Core, 12GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, DVD-RW, Bluetooth 4.2, Windows 10, Black

The Dell Inspiron has 12GB RAM. That’s a lot of RAM for an affordable laptop. The more RAM a laptop has the more video memory the integrated graphics card can access. This leads to better performance when playing games.

Even though it will lead to better performance it will still perform significantly worse than a dedicated graphics card. Still for a laptop to have lots of RAM at such a price tag is a good deal.

In addition to that, it is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. A decent mid-range processor for everyday tasks. The 1TB HDD is a 5400RPM which is slow. Swapping this out will lead to some performance gains.

The Dell Inspiron 15 comes pre-loaded with a lot of bloatware. Removing the bloatware will make user experience pleasurable. The battery life is also below average being able to last 5-6 hours under normal usage.

All in all the Dell Inspiron 15 is a pretty good affordable laptop that can handle modded Minecraft and your everyday computing tasks well.

Pros Cons
Massive Amount Of RAM Slow HDD
Backlit Keyboad Bloatware
Decent Price-To-Performance Ratio Not The Best Battery Life

2018 Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Flagship Premium 15.6" Full HD Touchscreen Backlit Keyboard Laptop, Intel Core i5-8250U Quad-Core, 12GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, DVD-RW, Bluetooth 4.2, Windows 10, Black
