The laptop’s design is also sleek and black. Lenovo took a minimalistic approach. The convertible looks professional and easily blends in the office environment.

4th Place – Cheap Laptop For Microsoft Office

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E 15 Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-5762

The Acer Aspire E15 comes preloaded with a one-month trial version of Microsoft Office. It’s also an excellent laptop for Microsoft Office use.

The keyboard is backlit and offers a comfortable typing experience. The port selection is also decent – two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and a USB-C port.

The 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display is sharp and has decent viewing angles. Unfortunately, it is not a bright display.

Performance is solid at best. An 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB RAM. The storage device is also a 256GB SSD. Having an SSD for storage provides you with the benefit of fast boot-up speeds and loading of applications.

Everything just runs smoothly. It also has an entry-level NVIDIA MX150 graphics card which is good enough for light gaming.

The build quality of Acer Aspire E15 feels cheap because it made of plastic. On top of that, the plastic chassis scratches easily and gets dirty if not regularly cleaned.

Acer laptops come with a lot of bloatware and this is not an exception. Fortunately, you can easily check out this guide on how to remove bloatware.

Overall, the Acer Aspire E15 provides a lot of value at its price. A simple but cheap laptop that you can use for Microsoft Office, school or home.

Pros

Backlit Keyboard

Sharp Display

Plenty Of Ports

Cons

Bloatware

Low Brightness

Chassis Scratches Easily

Best Budget

Dell Inspiron 15

2018 Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Flagship Premium 15.6' Full HD Touchscreen Backlit Keyboard Laptop, Intel Core i5-8250U Quad-Core, 12GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, DVD-RW, Bluetooth 4.2, Windows 10, Black

The Dell Inspiron 15 is a cheap laptop you can get for Microsoft Office. An under $600 laptop that comes with a lot of RAM. Most budget laptops in its price range mostly come 8GB RAM but this comes with 12GB of RAM.

Coupled with its 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor you can expect better performance than most budget laptops. The only thing holding it back is its HDD. Although it has a massive amount of space the HDD is slow. Swapping this out with an SSD will lead to performance gains.

The backlit keyboard on this budget laptop is definitely worth it. The keyboard also has decent key travel and tactile feedback. You will be somewhat pleased by its backlit keyboard.

Battery life on this laptop is not impressive. You are able to get 5-6 hours of battery life under consistent use. This might not be enough for you.

In addition, to that, it comes pre-loaded with a lot of bloatware. You can follow this guide in on how to remove bloatware.

Overall, the Dell Inspiron 15 is just a cheap laptop with a decent backlit keyboard. It’s not perfect but it will get the job done.

Pros

Massive Amount Of RAM

Solid Performance

Backlit Keyboard

Cons

Slow HDD

ASUS VivoBook

ASUS VivoBook F510UA 15.6” Full HD Nanoedge Laptop, Intel Core i5-8250U Processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, USB-C, Fingerprint, Windows 10 Home - F510UA-AH51, Star Gray

The ASUS Vivobook is for those looking for a budget or cheap laptop for Microsoft Office. Since this is a budget laptop it will definitely have certain negatives.

The first is the hard drive. The HDD is a slow storage device so expect slow boot-up speeds and loading of applications. Fortunately, the ASUS Vivobook is easy to upgrade and swapping the HDD with an SSD will lead to performance gains.

Second is the keyboard. The keyboard has uneven uniformity in the key travel and spacing. Typing doesn’t feel comfortable and the keys are too stiff. And it’s not backlit.

Last is the battery. The battery life is unimpressive being able to last 5-6 hours of consistent use before requiring a charge.

Those are the negatives. Now for the positives.

For a budget laptop, the processor is good. An 8th Gen Intel Core i5 quad-core. And along with its 8GB RAM, you will get better performance than most budget laptops in its price range.

The laptop itself is easy to carry around weighing 3.7 pounds. Definitely not the lightest but still light enough to carry along with you to the office or travels.

Also, the 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display is good. Thin bezels, zero reflections and almost zero light bleeds. In addition to that, the brightness is good enough to be used outdoors. There is also a USB-C port included.

The ASUS Vivobook is a budget laptop that offers a lot of benefit than most laptops in its price range. It might actually be the best laptop for Microsoft Office and basic internet browsing. Just remember that you get what you pay for. This laptop is not on par with the expensive laptops.

Pros

Affordable

Solid Performance

Easy To Carry

Cons

Slow HDD
