Acer Predator Helios 300

Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop PC, 15.6 inches Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display, Intel i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, PH315-52-78VL

The Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop is for enthusiasts or better still competitive LOL players. If you are looking for the best laptop for League of Legends. You are looking at it. This gaming laptop will run League of Legends on MAX settings smoothly.

A 9th Gen six-core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti. Already the Intel core i7 is a high-performance and a powerful processor. It also has plenty of RAM for multitasking and running games.

But, it is the NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti that is the real killer here. A high-end graphics card that’s able to play AAA title games on high settings. So League of Legends along with Overwatch, Fornite and PUBG will be child’s play.

The storage device is a super-fact NVMe SSD. So boot-up speeds, loading of applications especially games will be fast. Unfortunately, it is only 256GB SSD so you have to upgrade it if you want more storage space.

The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) with a refresh rate of 144Hz. If you like to play other games aside from League of Legends having a fast display helps. Because it reduces screen tearing, stuttering and ghosting. Visual distortions that prevent smooth gameplay.

Build quality is great. A mix of plastic and metal. The display lid and keyboard deck are metal. Whilst the rest of the body is hard plastic. Because of the build quality, there is little to no flex on the display. When it comes to weight. It’s almost 5.3 pounds or 2.3 kg.

Battery life is not stellar on this gaming laptop. It’s to be expected because of ist powerful hardware. You will get at most 3 hours under consistent use.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is the best gaming laptop for League of Legends. A high-performance laptop that can handle AAA title games on high settings easily.

Lenovo IdeaPad L340

2019 Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop, 15.6' FHD IPS Display, 9th Gen Intel 4-Core i5-9300H Upto 4.1GHz, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB, Backlit Keyboard, USB-C, HDMI, Windows 10

The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is a solid affordable gaming laptop which can handle League of Legends. It also has the hardware to play AAA title or demanding games on medium settings.

But, where the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 shines the most is its design. The gaming laptop looks like a business laptop. A simple design with an all-black finish. It’s made of hard plastic and weighs approximately 4.8 pounds or 2.2 kg. It’s a beautiful laptop that doesn’t attract attention to itself.

When it comes to performance. It has a 9th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. A high-performance quad-core processor with high clock speeds. It will tear through multitasking and heavy loads. RAM is 8GB which is sufficient for LOL. Unfortunately, it’s a single RAM slot. So you can’t take advantage of dual-channel memory.

The graphics card – GTX 1650 – is a mid-range graphics card that can play the latest AAA title games on med to high settings. You will be able to max out graphic settings on League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch and PUBG.

The storage space is a 256GB NVMe SSD. Plenty of storage space plus a super-fast storage device makes the Lenovo IdeaPad responsive and snappy. LOL, games and application, in general, will load fast.

Battery life is decent for a gaming laptop. It’s able to last 4-5 hours under consistent use. Although it is below average i.e 8 hours. It is still respectable for a gaming laptop. Enough power to finish up your work. Plus, it has fast-charging capabilities – 80 per cent charge in an hour.

The display though leaves a lot to be desired. A 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) which has below average colour accuracy and reproduction. It is also isn’t that bright making outdoor use difficult. Completely avoid if you like bright and colour accurate displays.

Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 is one of the best budget gaming laptops for League of Legends. It also has enough power to play other games on medium to high settings.

ASUS TUF (2019) Gaming Laptop, 15.6” 120Hz Full HD IPS-Type, AMD Ryzen 7 3750H, GeForce GTX 1650, 8GB DDR4, 512GB PCIe SSD, Gigabit Wi-Fi 5, Windows 10 Home, FX505DT-EB73

The ASUS TUF brings combines the power of AMD and NVIDIA graphics under its chassis. AMD and NVIDIA collaborations are rare. And when they came together it is always a powerful and affordable gaming laptop. This is what the ASUS TUF brings.

The processor is an AMD Ryzen 7 quad-core processor. It is similar in performance to the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 with the i5 being slightly faster than it. A high-performance processor that will be able to handle demanding tasks.

RAM is 8GB which is sufficient enough for League of Legends. But, if you want to unlock its full potential add an extra 8GB RAM stick. AMD Ryzen processors get a boost in performance when RAM is in dual channel mode. So if you want more performance get that extra stick.

The graphics cards are an NVIDIA GTX 1650 which is an entry to mid-range graphics card. You can easily play LOL on MAX settings. The same applies to Fornite and Overwatch. The graphics card is powerful enough to play AAA title games on medium settings.

Moreover, the gaming laptop comes with plenty of storage and it’s a super-fast NVMe SSD. You know what that means.

The display is fast with decent viewing angles. A 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) with a 120Hz refresh rate. No screen tearing, stuttering and ghosting on this laptop. Just smooth gameplay. Colour accuracy and reproduction is average. The brightness is also on the low side.

The ASUS TUF has a big battery – 64WHr. And so the battery life is going to be above average for gaming laptops. But, still below average. Most gaming laptops can last 2-3 hours. The ASUS TUF lasts 4-5 hours. Not too shabby.

The design is cleaner and the build quality is decent. A mix of plastic and metal. The display lid is metal and has little to no flex on it. But, there is a lot of flex in the keyboard area.

When two companies that make graphics card come together in a laptop. You will know that the laptop is going to be a gaming one. The ASUS TUF is the result of AMD and NVIDIA coming together to bring the best affordable laptops for gaming. Definitely, one of the best gaming laptops for League of Legends.

MSI GF63 Thin

MSI GF63 Thin 8SC-030 15.6' Gaming Laptop, Thin Bezel, Intel Core i5-8300H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650, 8GB, 256GB NVMe NVMe SSD

The MSI GF63 Thin is an entry-level gaming laptop. Meant for those who like to play casual games not AAA title games. Just like the name implies it is thin and light. It weighs approximately 1.86 kg and it’s less than an inch thick. This makes it easy to carry around and put in your bag.

Let’s talk about performance.

This gaming laptop has an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB RAM. The Intel Core i5 is a quad-core and high-performance processor. Clock speeds are high and it will be able to handle demanding applications.

The graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 1650 Max-Q card. It is slower than the actual GTX 1650 and has lower clock speeds. Gaming performance will be worse than the actual thing. But, your laptop will run cooler and quieter.

You won’t experience overheating and thermal throttling. This doesn’t mean it isn’t a capable card. League of Legends will be playable on HIGH settings. Although you have to reduce the settings when playing AAA title games.

The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS. The colour accuracy and reproduction is similar to that of the Lenovo Ideapad L340. It’s also not that bright. The display leaves a lot to be desired.

Build quality is above average. MSI took the approach of making the display lid and keyboard brushed aluminium. Whiles the rest of the body is plastic. Because of this, the display lid has little to no flex on it.

Battery life is below average. Laptops with Max-Q cards are known to have decent battery life. But not the MSI GF63. This thing can last 3-4 hours under consistent use.

Still, the MSI GF63 is a capable gaming laptop that can handle League of Legends on HIGH or MAX settings. It will also be able to handle AAA title games on medium settings.

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E 15 Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-5762

The Acer Aspire E15 is the best cheap laptop for League of Legends. It is not a powerhouse but it will get a job done.

A laptop entirely made out of cheap plastic. So it raises the questions if the build quality is solid. To be honest, it doesn’t have the best build quality. And there is a bit of flex here and there. It is to be expected.

When it comes to performance. It has a quad-core 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM and an NVIDIA MX150. The Intel Core i5 is a capable processor and will be able to handle demanding tasks up to a certain extent. For the RAM, 8GB is sufficient. You can easily upgrade this to 16GB if you want it to be future-proof.

The NVIDIA MX150 card is an entry-level card. This card will struggle to play AAA title games on low settings. But, League of Legends will be fine. At least, you will be able to play the game on HIGH settings without any problems.

The Acer Aspire E15 is one of the few budget laptops with an SSD storage. Most laptops in its price range have 1TB HDD. And it’s a plus because for a cheap laptop it makes everything so much better. A responsive system that boots-up quickly.

The display is average. It is not stellar neither is it bad. A 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display. The brightness is on the dim side. But, colour accuracy and reproduction are average. Viewing angles are decent.

Battery life is great. You could say the average of most laptop – 8 hours. You can squeeze out more if you turn on power saver.

Overall, the Acer Aspire E15 is a cheap laptop that can game. This makes it great for those on a budget or college students.

Pros

HP NoteBook 15

HP 15.6' HD Touch-Screen Laptop Notebook Computer, AMD Quad Core Ryzen 5 3500U up to 3.7GHz, 8GB DDR4, 128GB SSD PCI-e, AMD Radeon Vega 8, USB 3.0, Webcam, DVD-RW, HDMI, Windows 10, Silver

The HP NoteBook 15 is an affordable under 500 laptop that can play League of Legends. But, it will be on low settings. With this laptop is best to keep your expectations low.

The processor – AMD Ryzen 5 – is a solid performer. Performance is similar to that of the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 found in ultrabooks. It’s only four per cent slower than that of the Intel Core i5. So you will be fine in terms of processing power.

The HP NoteBook comes with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. Just like with all AMD processors. Upgrading the RAM to 16GB dual-channel memory will take performance to new heights. The storage is super-fast. But, space is on the low side – 128GB SSD. League o

Legends will quickly eat the remaining space up. Fortunately, you can upgrade it for an affordable price.

It doesn’t have any dedicated graphics card. Though the AMD Vega 8 puts up a far better fight than the Intel HD graphics. You will get a better gaming experience. But, will still suffer under demanding games.

The 15.6-inch display is not Full HD (1920 x 1080). It’s an HD (1366 x 768) display with average brightness and colour gamut. It won’t be as sharp as the Full HD. It will get the job done. But, once again keep low expectations.

Battery life is decent. But, below average. You are looking at 6-7 hours under normal use.

Overall, HP NoteBook 15 is a decent laptop. A cheap laptop that can run League of Legends. A cheap laptop with a few downsides. But it will get the job done.

Pros

What To Look For In Getting A Laptop For League Of Legends

Here are a few things to look for when getting a laptop for League of Legends.

CPU/Processor

CPU is important. You should be looking for laptops that have Intel Core i5 or higher. For AMD, Ryzen 5 or higher will also be great.

The AMD Ryzen CPUs are similar in performance to Intel Core CPUs. For a better understanding of Intel CPUs, please read this guide. We also have a guide for understanding AMD Ryzen processors and the differences between them.

Graphics Card

Do not go with Intel HD Graphics card. You will regret it. AMD graphics cards, on the other hand, are decent. They will give you decent framerates for the game to be enjoyable. For dedicated graphics cards, NVIDIA GTX 1050 or higher will be more sufficient.

How Much RAM Do You Need For League of Legends

8GB is more than enough. League of Legends doesn’t eat a lot of RAM resources. So having 8GB RAM won’t impact performance negatively.

Final Thoughts

League of Legends is a super-fun and competitive game. And you need all the power you can get to play LOL on MAX settings.

The game will be boring and you will be on losing streak if everything is so laggy. Luckily, the laptops we have listed will give you the best performance which will result in a competitive edge.
