Eluktronics Mech 15

Eluktronics MECH-15 G2Rx Slim & Light NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti Gaming Laptop with Mechanical RGB Keyboard - Intel i7-9750H CPU 6GB GDDR6 VR Ready GPU 15.6' 144Hz Full HD IPS 512GB NVMe SSD + 16GB RAM

The Eluktronics Mech-15 is a beast when it comes to gaming performance. A barebones laptop which allows you to customize your hardware.

This allows you to achieve maximum performance within the limits of your budgets.

The laptop gives you the choice to choose between a GTX 1060, RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Max-Q. If you prefer the RTX cards you can customize your Eluktronics laptop by clicking this link here.

All three cards are powerful in their own right. The RTX 2060 and 2070 Max-Q being a good choice if you want something futureproof.

You can also choose the amount of RAM you want ranging from 8GB to 64GB. The same applies to storage capacities.

You can choose to have a combination of SSD and HDD or you can go with SSD only or HDD only. The processor is an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 hexa-core.

For the display, it has a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) 72% NTSC. The good thing about the display is the fact that you can choose between 60Hz and 144Hz refresh rate. And as always the higher the refresh rate the better the gaming experience.

The downside of the laptop is the poor battery life lasting about 2 hours of normal usage. The speakers also suck. It is not loud enough even when maxed out.

And the quality is also not that good. The keyboard will also take some time getting used to because the keys packed tightly together.

Elutronics Mech-15 is a beast which allows you to customize the hardware to your own liking. It’s portable, good aesthetics and solid build quality.

A solid gaming laptop that can handle Apex Legends, Fortnite and other AAA title games. The Windows OS also doesn’t come with bloatware. Highly recommended.

Pros Cons
Customizable Hardware Poor Battery Life
Great Performance Not The Best Speakers

MSI GS65 Stealth

MSI GS65 Stealth-007 15.6' Razor Thin Bezel Gaming Laptop NVIDIA RTX 2060 6G, 144Hz 7ms, Intel i7-8750H (6 cores), 16GB, 256GB NVMe SSD, TB3, Per Key RGB, Win 10 Pro, Matte Black with Gold Diamond cut

The MSI GS65 Stealth is a great laptop but before we go over its strengths, here are its weaknesses. The first one is the build quality.

The laptop is made from aluminium but surprisingly it has a lot of flex to it. The most affected parts are the lid and keyboard.

Secondly, the smooth finish of the aluminium body makes the MSI GS65 a fingerprint magnet. You will have to keep a cloth close because you will be cleaning it often to get rid of the fingerprints.

The laptop also runs hot when put under heavy loads. This is a symptom of most thin and light gaming laptops. Because they don’t have enough space for cool air to circulate they tend to run very hot and throttle.

Nevertheless, the MSI GS65 is a powerful performer. It comes with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 hexa-core, 16 GB RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 2060.

The RAM is a dual channel which is a good benefit to have because it increases performance not only in games but in other areas too.

The SSD is also very fast in accessing data so you will see very fast boot up speeds and loading times in Apex Legends and other games. The downside is the low storage capacity it has which can be solved if you replace it with higher storage capacity.

The battery life is also decent. You are able to get 5-6 hours of battery power under normal usage.

The RTX 2060 is a powerful card. You will be able to run the majority of AAA title games smoothly on high settings.

Also, the 15.6 inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz 72% NTSC display finalizes it into a great gaming laptop. A high refresh rate display is a must if you want to achieve a high FPS.

It also minimizes screen tearing and stuttering making gaming much more enjoyable. Smooth gameplay is amazing gameplay.

The MSI G65 definitely has its strengths and weakness. The strengths make up for its weaknesses making it a great gaming laptop.

Pros Cons
Thin And Light Fingerprint Magnet
144Hz Refresh Rate Display Laptop Has A Lot Of Flex
Great Performance Runs Hot
Thunderbolt Port Low Storage Capacity

Acer Predator Helios 300

Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop PC, 15.6' Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display, Intel i7-9750H, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, PH315-52-78VL

The Acer Predator Helios 300 lives up to its name of being a great gaming laptop. This gaming laptop combines affordability and insane performance making it one of the most popular gaming laptops.

The strongest point is the display. A 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and 300 nits brightness. High refresh rate displays reduce the amount of screen tearing, stuttering and ghosting during gameplay.

In addition, you are also able to get up to 144 FPS. Displays with 60Hz and 120Hz are able to reach 60 FPS and 120Hz respectively. In short, the high the display refresh rate the better your gaming experience.

The performance is also top-notch. An 9th Gen Intel Core six-core i7, 16 GB RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD.

Great combinations that give you a responsive gaming laptop and fast boot-up speeds. The laptop could have been better if the storage was greater than 256GB.

The NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti is a very capable card able to let you run AAA title games on med-high settings. PredatorSense also allows you to overclock the GPU allowing high framerates on games.

Like with most gaming laptops, the Acer Predator Helios 300 suffers poor battery life. It is able to last you 2-3 hours of normal usage requiring you to carry your laptop charger wherever you go.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is a great laptop for handling not only Apex Legends on high settings but also other AAA title games.

Pros Cons
High Refresh Rate And Bright Display Quite Heavy
Great Performance Poor Battery Life
Good Build Quality 256GB SSD Might Not Be Enough

The Lenovo Legion Y7000 is a clean gaming laptop with a minimalistic design. A powerful mid-range laptop from Lenovo which can take care of your gaming needs.

Like with most gaming laptops the performance is great. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1060. The storage capacity is high.

A combination of a 128GB PCIe SSD and a 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD. You can swap out the 1 TB HDD for an SSD if you think it’s not for you. Most AAA title games will be able to run fine on high settings.

The display is decent but fails in the refresh rate department. It is a 15.6-inch thin bezel Full HD (1920 x 1080) that has a refresh rate of 60Hz.

Games will max out at 60 FPS and screen tearing and ghosting will also be common.

The battery life is decent for a gaming laptop able to last 3-4 hours under normal usage or even more if you activate battery saver.

The laptop weighs 5.2 pounds. The standard weight for most laptops. It’s not heavy and about an inch thick. The thickness is necessary for proper cooling which it has thanks to the effective design of its cooling system.

The Lenovo Legion Y7000 is a gaming laptop with a rugged, minimalistic and compact design. The GTX 1060 is also a great card in providing the high FPS in most games.

The only thing that kept the laptop from reaching its full potential is its 60Hz refresh rate display rate.

ASUS TUF FX504

Asus FX504 Thin & Light TUF Gaming Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H Processor, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 8GB DDR4, 256GB M.2 SSD, Gigabit WiFi, Windows 10 - FX504GE-ES72

The re-modelled ASUS FX504 is a decent gaming laptop available at an affordable price. The build quality is good. All plastic with little flex.

ASUS did a good job of making this laptop better and solved most of the problems the previous generation had.

The thermal cooling solution is much better thanks to its three fans. You can send the three fans into overdrive to better cool the systems if things are running hot.

The performance is also nothing to be worried about. An 8th Gen Intel six-core i7, 8 GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti. You can easily upgrade the RAM to 16GB if 8GB is not sufficient for you.

The NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti is a mid-range gaming graphics card that will give you decent FPS on AAA title games. You will be able to get 50+ FPS on high settings when playing Apex Legends.

For a gaming laptop, the display is disappointing. A 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. There will be some screen tearing and stuttering.

Your FPS will also max out at 60 FPS even though benchmarks will show higher FPS. The 256GB SSD is low capacity and you might even need an upgrade if you tend to play a lot of games or have a lot of files.

The battery life is also on the poor side averaging 2 hours of normal usage. ASUS says the laptop is thin and light but it is an inch thick and weighs 5 pounds. This is not a problem because you can easily move this around.

Overall, the ASUS FX504 is an affordable gaming laptop that delivers great performance when it comes to mid-range gaming. The only thing that holds it back is its 60Hz display. Something that is common in gaming laptops in its price range.

Pros Cons
Great Performance Low Capacity Storage Drive
Great Price-To-Performance Ratio 60Hz Refresh Rate

Acer Aspire E15

Acer Aspire E 15 Laptop, 15.6' Full HD, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U, GeForce MX150, 8GB RAM Memory, 256GB SSD, E5-576G-5762

The Acer Aspire E15 is a solid laptop both for gaming and all-round purposes. It is also one of the few budget laptops to have a 256 GB SSD.

The dedicated MX150 graphics card is a good enough card to play Apex Legends and other games on low settings. It also has an 8GB RAM which can be upgraded up to 16GB if 8 GB is not sufficient for you.

The 8th Gen Core i5 processor is also good enough. Faster than its previous generation and also energy efficient.

The battery life is decent averaging 8 hours of normal usage. And the keyboard is backlit. The display is a 15.6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS with decent colour reproduction and saturation.

Related: Best Laptops For Watching Movies, Streaming Netflix And Listening To Music For Every Budget

The downsides of the Acer Aspire E15 is the fact that the touchpad is not the best. You will have to get a gaming mouse when it comes to playing games. This will allow you to enjoy games compared to when using the touchpad.

Also, the MX150 is an entry-level card. It won’t give you stellar performance on Apex Legends and other AAA title games. But, it will definitely run well when graphics settings have been reduced.

The I/O selection is very good. A USB Type-C, two USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0. Very decent for a budget laptop. The weight is also standard of about 5.2 pounds. You can easily carry it around in your laptop bag or backpack.

The Acer Aspire E15 is a great option if you looking to play Apex Legends but can’t afford the higher-end models especially if you are on a budget. It is also a great laptop for general purposes.

Just keep in mind that it won’t give you as much gaming performance as the GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060. Another great budget option is the ASUS VivoBook S Ultra Thin. It also has the same specs but it is from ASUS.

Pros Cons
Backlit Keyboard Not The best Touchpad
Good Battery Life You Can’t Play Apex On High Settings
