The Acer Predator Helios 300 is a popular gaming laptop for casual gamers. One of the best laptops that has a good price-to-performance ratio.

An Intel 9th Gen Intel i7 six-core, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1660 Ti. The recommended hardware configuration to run Anthem and other AAA titles smoothly.

Even with all its perks, it has a few flaws. The battery life is poor lasting 2-3 hours of normal usage and even less when the load is increased.

But on the plus side, it has a 15.6 inch 144Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display. Most laptops in its price range do not come with 144Hz panels but rather a 60Hz.

This makes your gameplay smoother and more enjoyable since you won’t experience stuttering or tearing.

Gigabyte Aero 15x

Gigabyte AERO 15-W9-RT4P 15' Thin Bezel FHD LG 144Hz IPS, Intel i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, 2666MHz 16GB RAM, M.2 PCIe 512GB SSD, RGB Keyboard, Win10 Pro, 94Wh Metal Chassis Slim Gaming Laptop

The Gigabyte Aero 15x is close to the ideal gaming companies have been aiming for. Overwhelming performance and good battery life.

Because of the powerful hardware gaming laptops have their battery life is the worst amongst laptops.

But not the Gigabyte Aero, able to last 6-8 hours depending on load. On top of that, you have an 8th Gen Intel i7 six-core processor and an NVIDIA RTX 2060.

The display is above average. A 15.6 inch 144Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS. Fast refresh rate to prevent stuttering and screen tearing during gameplay.

And a fairly high colour accuracy and reproduction. The brightness is on a low side not really bright like most screens out there.

The Gigabyte Aero comes with a lot of bloatware. This can easily be gotten rid of if you uninstall or do a fresh windows installation. The fans also get loud when the load increases. And the price tag might actually make a dent in your wallet.

Nevertheless, Gigabyte has managed to bring the Aero 15x to the ideal most gaming companies have been striving for – excellent gaming performance and good battery life.

On top of that, the Aero 15x also manages to have a thin and light form factor.

Pros Cons
Decent Batter Life Pricey
Thin And Light Fans Get Loud
Excellent Performance Bloatware
Good Thermals

MSI GL63

MSI GL63 8SE-209 15.6' Performance Gaming Laptop, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6G, 120Hz 3ms, Intel i5-8300H (6 cores), 16GB, 256GB NVMe SSD, Red Backlit KB, Win 10, Black

The MSI GL63 is basically a dragon in the form of a laptop. An 8th Gen Intel i5 quad-core, 16 GB RAM, and a 256 GB SSD available for under $1500. It has the best price-to-performance ratio in the laptop market.

The Intel Core i5 is only 12 per cent slower than the Intel Core i7 according to Userbenchmark. The performance difference is not really much to cause any performance issues in games or everyday use.

And the RTX 2060 is a faster graphics card than the GTX 1070 by 11 per cent. The performance basically evens out when compared to an Intel i7 with a GTX 1070.

The storage, on the other hand, might not be enough because Anthem needs at least 50 GB of available space. You might have to resort to an external hard drive if you catch yourself running out of space.

The display is a 15.6 120Hz Full HD (1920 x 1080) TN. The TN display might put some people off because of its bad viewing angles and colours.

The TN display of the MSI GL63 is high quality with 94% NTSC and 100%sRGB. On top of that, TN displays have faster response times than IPS displays.

MSI literally stroked the perfect balance between performance and price. Most RTX laptops are priced between $1800-3000 depending on the brand.

Apart from its small storage and battery life, the MSI GL63 offers a lot of value at such an affordable price for an RTX laptop.

Good Price-to-performance Ration Small Storage

How To Find The Best Laptop For Anthem

Anthem is a demanding game here’s what to look out for when buying a laptop

Budget

The first thing you should consider is your budget. It is what determines the performance of the laptop.

If your budget is not enough you will not be able to get a powerful laptop to run Anthem as smoothly as you like.

Considering how much you are willing to spend gives you an idea on what you want to compromise on.

GPU

The minimum graphics card to run Anthem is an NVIDIA GTX 760 or AMD Radeon 7970/R9280X. The recommended graphics card NVIDIA GTX 1060/2060 or AMD RX480.

This shows that you need at least an NVIDIA GTX 760 for it to run smoothly on the lowest settings. But, if you want decent graphics and performance you should aim for a GTX 1060 or higher.

A GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti will work fine but it won’t provide higher framerates but performance will definitely be decent.

CPU

The latest Intel i5 or i7 CPUs are recommended for best performance. AMD Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 are also great CPUs

Storage

You need at least 50 GB of storage available for the Anthem files. Having a storage device with a large amount of space and solid state drives are recommended.

SSDs are great because they are able to access data very fast which in turn can cause faster loading times in Anthem.

Display

High refresh displays prevent stuttering and tearing during gameplay. Gameplay is much smoother and pleasant experience if your laptop display has a high refresh display rate.
